A Special Birthday Card

Elvis was in my Blog Page earlier this month....now....George Michael...LOL.  My friend and neighbor, Ciara, whom I have scrapped a page for and published on this site, has a birthday today.  I had a thought and made this birthday card for her at the spare of the moment.  Since she has been a Wham/George Michael Fan since the 80's, and recently got to see him in concert, I knew that it would be fun to make a special birthday card with none other than George himself!

Since I had never done a tri-fold card before, and was a bit nervous just to tackle it full boar, I decided to check youtube for some tutorials.  Low and behold, a wonderful and informative tutorial by Scrap Happens...special thanks to you Nancy! Sucess!

ELVIS...Is in my blog page

It's been awhile hasn't it? I've been on again, off again, from baseball practice to baseball games until late in the evening, to making a couple of projects I can't quite reveal until after May for Scrapfit.blogspot.com...I've been.....busy!

I am happy to announce that I have done a fun layout of none other than...Elvis Presley, (insert Elvis montage here)...My friend, Barbara, aka Allie, the lucky duck, got to meet Elvis Presley back in 1973.  Her husband at that time worked at the San Diego Sports Arena.  She got to not only see the concert, but she got to MEET HIM! 

She has had her personalized autograph stored in a tiny envelope.  It was her Father's business card that was used to get his autograph, so it's been put away and a tad bit faded.  But she wanted to show it off, (I would too!) in something really cool.  So here it is.  Gosh, she's so lucky!  Enjoy!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Just in time for Cupid's Day...I created this layout of my neighbors, Frank and Ciara.  They are a great couple with five wonderful kids.  Seriously, I don't know what we would do without such great neighbors! We are Blessed to have such wonderful people in our lives for sure!  I was over at their house one day when I noticed this photo of the two of them on their fridge.  This is such a great photo of the two of them in a warm embrace, I knew that it would be a nice one to scrap, just for them!  I made a "mission" for two of their kids to "borrow" the photo from the fridge, so I could surprise them with this...Come to find out that their anniversary is actually the 12th of February!  I knew I had a time limit so I got to work on this one pretty quick....and Voila!! Here it is!  My hubby actually helped me out with this one as well...I think he's starting to think that scrapbooking isn't such a bad hobby after all!  LOL...Anyway, we couldn't wait to get to their house and give this to them...they were genuinely happy and surprised, which made it all the better as a special gift!  Happy Anniversary, Frank and Ciara! Steampunk Debutante

Hello and Happy February!  Where is 2011 going, ALREADY?!  I've not posted on here for the past couple of weeks on the count of getting my widsom teeth ripped out of my head! Ouch!  Just had the last two done this past Wednesday, and the previous ones the week before that.  No, I'm not a glutton for punishment, just something I know had to be done for the better of my heart/health!

Okay, enough of the toofy thingy...On to bigger and better things...SCRAPBOOKING!  This is the second layout of my friend, Arlene Terrell of www.widowsweeds.com.  Yes, check her webiste out, you will be amazed!  If you look below you will see the first layout in which she was wearing this very same dress, but you get to see the back of this one in all of it's bustly glory! she does gorgeous work! I had some beautiful flocked paper from DCWV that I thought matched the dress closely, but it was cream and black.  Thank Goodness for Tim Holtz and Ranger Industries!  My Peeled Paint inkpad turned the paper the perfect shade of green to match the dress! 

The first layout I completed  was more cut work and dimension involved, but not enough steampunk, so I made up for that with this layout.  I had started this layout about three weeks ago, and just walked away from it...All I had done was the base cutouts and that's about it.  Am I glad I walked away, cause I actually finished this one today, with fresh ideas in my head-mainly the corset paper!  LOVE IT!  This will be yet another gift for my friend in which I hope she will showcase for her dress making business.  Thanks for looking!

For My Friend, Arlene

This is my friend, Arlene Terrell.  Not only is she a wonderful friend, but she is a very talented costume designer!  I happened to meet her through Ebay, where she was selling her costumes, and come to find out she lives just minutes away from my Mother and Father!  Anyway, she and I met and we became fast friends.  She made me some absolutely gorgeous one of a kind costumes that I will forever cherish.  As a matter of fact, when I had to make my will before my heart surgery, I actually willed them back to her, because I knew that she would take special care of them.  I made this page for her to celebrate not only her as my friend, but also her first place win for the most beautiful steampunk costume in the world as awarded by Bustledress.com!  Not only are her costumes winners, but she is as well!  You can take a look at her creations at www.widowsweeds.com  I'm sure you will agree!  Thanks for looking!  Layout Info:  Paper-Graphic 45. Birthday No. 6 and Snoop

Exciting News for Me! I have been chosen to be a guest design team member!

I am so excited to have found that ScrapFit.com has chosen me to be a guest design team member for the month of May!  I consider this to be a huge accomplishment, especially since I've been hoping to become a design team member for some time now.  I am thankful that Scrapfit thought my work was worthy enough for such an honor!
